A Personal Journey to Better Health
Like many of you, my relationship with food wasn’t always healthy. As the founder of Track My Cal, my journey started back in college. Late-night study sessions became synonymous with mindless snacking, and working in the tech industry meant long hours, stress-eating, and a never-ending cycle of binge eating. It felt impossible to break free from this pattern.
The Breaking Point
In 2024, after reaching my highest weight and feeling completely disconnected from my eating habits, I knew something had to change. I tried using various apps, but none of them truly helped. The existing options couldn’t account for my home-cooked meals, and generic calorie counts rarely matched what I was actually eating. After all, no app could tell me how many eggs I added to my pancake batter or how many scoops of protein powder I’d thrown into my milkshake.
The Missing Piece
The biggest challenge I faced? Most apps couldn’t identify what was in my mom’s special curry or my modified recipes. I'd spend hours trying to manually calculate ingredients, only to give up because it was too complicated and time-consuming. That’s when it hit me—there had to be an app that understood real, home-cooked meals, including those custom touches we all add.
Building the Solution
I decided to take matters into my own hands and started developing Track My Cal with a simple goal: to make tracking what we actually eat easy and intuitive. By using AI technology, we built a system that:

The Fix Meal Feature
One of our proudest features is the Fix Meal option, which was born from my own frustrations with meal tracking. Our AI assistant listens to your instructions and helps adjust the nutrients and ingredient amounts based on what you’ve added. If you’re unsure whether a specific ingredient is correctly entered or want to modify it, the AI adjusts the nutritional breakdown accordingly, ensuring a more accurate tracking experience every time.
